Why do we use emojis? What do other people think about us when we use emojis? These are some of the questions this talk addresses by drawing on the research which has been done on the psychology of emojis. Dr. Linda K. Kaye is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology in the Department of Psychology at Edge Hill University. Her research is in the area of cyberpsychology; the study of our psychological experiences and impacts associated with new and emerging technology and the Internet. She is interested in the psychology of online behaviour, and how this varies across individuals and different virtual contexts.
