What's the forecast for renewables? How can climate data boost green energy?
It was the sunniest springtime on record in many countries in Europe, so surely that should be good for renewable energy like solar? Well, it turns out it's more complicated than that. We answer your questions, and bring you the inside story on the rollout of renewables in Europe. We discuss how new climate forecasts are integrated into plans for production and consumption of green energy, and reveal the bottlenecks on renewables and how to overcome them. Guests are Claudia Kemfert, Professor of Energy Economics and Sustainability at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin and head of the Energy, Transportation, and Environment department at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin),
Dr Jeff Hardy, senior research fellow at the Grantham Institute for Climate Change and an Energy Futures Lab affiliate, and Professor Alberto Troccoli, Managing Director of the World Energy and Meteorology Council. Hosted by Jeremy Wilks, climate correspondent and presenter of Climate Now on Euronews. Watch the videos and read more about climate change here: www.euronews.com/climatenow
