DP Ruto allies pledge allegiance to the United Democratic Alliance

In the clearest sign yet of an impending exodus from the governing jubilee party, members of parliament and senators allied to Deputy President William Ruto congregated at his residence in Nairobi's Karen suburb today, for a meeting on a wide range of issues that included what the legislators described as a descent into a political meltdown. The tanga tanga legislators are now calling on the international community including the United Nations and the African Union to monitor what they described as Kenya’s souring policting environment. But as Chemutai Goin reports, the Karen gathering had more to do with internal dynamics of Jubilee as the legislators allied to Deputy President Ruto began shifting both loyalties and funds to the recently formed united democratic alliance UDA.
