Everybody needs a good night's sleep. It's one of life's simple pleasures. But if you're married to somebody who snores or scrolls on their phone all night, quality shuteye might be hard to come by. Here are the celeb couples who sleep in different rooms.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip tied the knot in 1947, so when you've been married for almost three-quarters of a century, sleeping in separate rooms probably sounds like a great idea.

However, according to Prince Philip's first cousin, Lady Pamela, the royal couple sleeps separately because it is a tradition among the wealthy in England. Lady Pamela told American writer Sally Bedell Smith in 2011,

"In England, the upper class always have had separate bedrooms. You don't want to be bothered with snoring or someone flinging a leg around. Then when you are feeling cozy you share your room sometimes. It is lovely to be able to choose."

In 2017, it was reported that Prince Philip took this whole sleeping separately thing to the next level by actually moving out. The Daily Beast reported,
