Folly Beach, South Carolina - 2021

This footage was shot over a couple of days on a recent trip to Folly Beach, South Carolina which has become a regular destination for my family.

The southern end of the island faces SSE which means there are no sunsets to film and the light at sunrise cuts across the beach at an angle that makes getting those standard "stunner" beach shots difficult at best. It's often windy, and this year was exceptionally cloudy with intermittent rain.

But it is a peaceful place and that's what I wanted to show in this video. Slipping in just after Memorial Day means crowds are practically non-existent. The locals are very friendly, the food is wonderful, prices are reasonable, and the proximity to Charleston, South Carolina means there are lots of filming opportunities.
